New Release Greatly Increases Collaboration with A-Blogs and Offers Increased Enterprise Compatibility with Support for Microsoft Active Directory

USA – (29 January 2007) Ardenno Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of Collaborative Knowledge Management software solutions for research and development, today announced Ardenno Collaboration Center Version 2.0 at the LabAutomation 2007 Conference, the world’s leading conference and exhibition on emerging and merging laboratory technologies. The new release includes over 50 new features, with key additions of: dynamic metadata extraction; support for extensible style sheet language transformation (XSLT) and the addition of A-Blogs that add a new customer collaborative dimension for dispersed enterprises.
A recent study by Accenture of over a 1,000 managers at U.S and U.K. companies found that an average manager spends about two hours a day looking for data and that once they obtain the hard-sought information, half of it has no value to their efforts. The Accenture report found that disparate information silos of unstructured data was greatly preventing the ability to share information. The report also found that the biggest knowledge management issue confronting management today is information overload. Ardenno addresses and solves these issues directly by providing a solution that automates the process of applying unique metadata tagging values to enhance data relevancy, without causing undue administrative overhead to the individual researcher; all with the business objective to making research collaboration more efficient.
Release 2.0 Highlights
- Ardenno A-Blogs enable topical entries to be made in a journey style related to a specific subject. A-Blogs are associated with Ardenno Knowledge Bags to enable expanded team collaboration and leverages the extensive metadata layers available in Ardenno. The new blogging capabilities in Ardenno facilitate discussion and collaboration commentary on a particular subject such as project, study, experiment, compound or molecule. A typical Ardenno A-Blog is part of a wider network of internal discussion of observations and findings.
- Ardenno Active Directory quickly enables Ardenno to integrate into existing Microsoft Active Directory customer infrastructures. Ardenno Active Directory is a directory service that is built around Domain Name System (DNS) and lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP).
- Dynamic metadata extraction supports the ability to dynamically generate selective metadata from individual files or a Windows file structure to provide enhanced data relevancy for improved research and collaboration. The ability to dynamically extract metadata tag values from files and use them in conjunction with dynamic indexing to enable semantic searching offers a new level of power and flexibility.
- Support for extensible style sheet language transformation (XSLT) of Waters NuGenesis SDMS documents. This enables Ardenno to seamlessly extract XML metadata content stored in NuGenesis SDMS. Support for XSLT also enables Ardenno to seamlessly extract XML metadata content stored in other application files such as: Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, General Analytical Markup Language (GAML) systems and support for the new Analytical Information Markup Language (AniML) XML standard for analytical chemistry data.
- Document Interceptors based on pattern matching to allow the pre-processing of files before they are indexed. Multiple types of Document Interceptors are available to meet the various needs of users.

Town Hall dynamically displays a file’s Relevancy Heat Index from advanced algorithms with a quantitative ranking and displays a specific Heat Index color scheme to denote its quintile ranking. The creation of an Ardenno “knowledge community” in Town Hall provides increased content relevancy and a linkage between the available information and individuals across disparate research organizational silos.
